Questions parents ask us
Do our guests need to download an app?
No. They scan the code, the album opens in their phone's browser, and they upload. There is nothing to install and no account to create, which is why it works for guests of every age.
Do we need the app?
No. Everything works in a browser today, on your phone and on your laptop. The iPhone and Android app is for the parents to be, or whoever is hosting: it buzzes when photos land, lets you moderate from the sofa, and saves favourites to your camera roll. Your guests will never need it.
Is there a limit on how many guests can upload?
Never. Most album apps cap you at 50, 175, or 350 guests and charge more as your list grows. Lovely Day does not count your guests at all.
Is the album private?
Your album lives at its own unguessable link and is not indexed by search engines. Anyone with the link can add and view photos, which is what makes it effortless at a party. You can hide or delete anything from the host dashboard.
Who owns the photos?
You and your guests do. We never license, sell, or train anything on your photos. You can download the entire album as one file whenever you want.
How long do you keep our photos?
The Album includes 12 months of hosting and Forever includes 10 years. We will always email you before anything expires, and the download-everything button never stops working.
Can we keep adding after the shower?
Yes. The album stays open, so the same link can carry the first photographs from the hospital and the first weeks at home. On the Forever plan it is hosted for ten years.
We have not announced the name yet. Who can see the album?
Only the people you send the link to. The album sits at its own unguessable address and search engines are told to leave it alone. If you would rather see every photo before anyone else does, switch approval on in the dashboard and nothing appears until you have looked at it.
Nobody wants to be photographed at eight months. Is that alright?
The album does not need the guest of honour to hold a phone. Everyone else photographs the afternoon and it collects itself, so the person the day is about can sit down and look at all of it that evening.
