Lovely Day holds something irreplaceable: the only copies of moments nobody else photographed. This page explains exactly what we keep, who can see it, and how to get anything taken down.
The short version
Your photos are yours. We store them so your album works, we never sell them, we never license them to anyone, and we do not use them to train machine learning models of any kind.
We collect as little as we can get away with. A guest can contribute to an album without giving us a name, an email address, or an account.
What we store, and why
Photos and videos uploaded to an album, so the album can show them. These are held in Vercel Blob storage in the United States.
The name and note a guest types when they upload, so the couple knows who to thank. A guest can leave both blank.
Guestbook entries, and a count of reactions per photo.
The album's own details: the couple's names, the date, the venue, the shot list, and the plan the album is on.
If the couple gives us an email address, we keep it to warn them before their album expires and to help them get back in if they lose access. We do not add it to a marketing list without asking.
Who can see an album
Albums live at their own unguessable web address and are excluded from search engine indexing. Anyone holding that link can view the album and add to it, which is exactly what makes it work at a party where you cannot chase 140 people for their email addresses.
This means a link is a key. If a couple shares their album link publicly, the album is public. The couple can hide or delete anything at any time from their dashboard.
Photos of people who did not upload them
A wedding album is full of pictures of people who never touched the app. If you are in a photo and you want it gone, you do not need an account and you do not need to ask the couple: open the album, open the photo, and use Report. It is hidden from the album immediately.
We act on reports within 24 hours. You can also email hello@alovely.day and we will remove it ourselves.
Payments
Card details never touch our servers. Checkout runs on Stripe, and we receive only the confirmation that a payment succeeded plus which album it was for.
How long we keep things
For as long as the album's plan is hosted: 12 months on The Album, 10 years on Forever, one month on the free trial. We will email the couple before an album expires if we have their address.
When an album is deleted, its photos, videos, thumbnails, guestbook, and reactions are deleted from storage with it.
The download-everything button works for the whole life of the album, so you never need our permission to keep your own copies.
Analytics and tracking
We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not sell or share data with data brokers. If we add product analytics later, this page will say so before it goes live.
Your choices
Ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@alovely.day. If you are in California, the EU, or the UK, you have specific rights to access, correction, deletion, and portability, and we honour those requests regardless of where you live.
Children
Lovely Day is for adults planning a wedding. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Children obviously appear in wedding photos, and the same Report route removes any photo on request.
Changes
If we change how any of this works, we will update the date at the top of this page, and we will tell couples with active albums by email when the change is material.
Lovely Day is a product of Omniscient™ Systems, LLC, New Jersey, United States.
Questions about any of this? Email hello@alovely.day. See also our Privacy Policy and Terms.
